Thread,
I still don't quite understand the excitement about CTXS and the ASP market? Remember, they didn't even bring it up in Q2 CC. Maybe it will come up at iForum99 this weekend. I don't know? Also MSFT may not be thinking the same thing we are if/when it comes to deploying Office via the web. But maybe both will come to fruition and both will involve CTXS? But I'm not counting on it myself to make an investment decision. Personally it's just too far out there for me.

But anyhow, I believe one of the keynotes this weekend is going to be from a Fedex executive...I just looked it up and it's their CTO. Here's why I bring it up. On today's WSJ front page B section there is a headline story about Jim Barksdale. I didn't know this but he sat on Fedex board and was supposedly how he got his high tech kudos.

Well Fedex must be a CTXS customer, I would assume. I sort of recall this but didn't find them in the real world examples. It would be interesting to know to what extent they deploy MetaFrame. Does anyone remember any details?

Anyhow, Barksdale is going back to sit on the board of Fedex in the capacity as a tech advisor. Kind of interesting to CTXS investors I would think. But I'm not sure if he had anything to do with Fedex originally deploying MetaFrame? Just interesting speculation. That's all.

Now what makes it more interesting is Barksdale is doing technical advising on his current venture capital investments. One of which is HomeGrocer.com. He is helping HomeGrocer.com create their logistical distribution operation. Now one wonders if MetaFrame may be a part of that solution?

If HomeGrocer.com did become a MetaFrame user, I would have to think Barksdale favors it as a solution for solving the logistical nightmares, multiple distribution wharehouses present. Pretty much like Fedex faces. That would be a nice feather in the MetaFrame cap.

PS BTW, Eric Schmidt is giving a keynote too. Can anyone speculate on what in the world he is there for? I can't believe he is doing it for the money. What could be the Novell-Citrix connection? I bet if there is one, it's pretty technical.

PS2 Oh my simple $.02 on the recent CTXS runup. Just people thinking they are going to come through once again. I still think most investors don't have much of a clue as to what CTXS is/does, but they always seem to come through on the top/bottom line.
