Does anyone here think Jerry would actually get into buyout talks... I don't think he could give up AMD, no matter what the price..

Bell Microproducts has signed on as a distributor of AMD products....that's the only news I have seen so far today.

Kap,

<At $22 7/8. It looks like too many big boys are trying to get through the door at the same time.>

I just checked the I-Watch scene and the big-boy action is light. Looks like retail and momentum players on the ball. I am happy with my timing on this one - got my last buy in the morning of Niles call on a dip. Considering writing some 22 1/2 25 Sep calls at this point.

<Is this the IBM buy-out rumor or something else?>

I have a hard time believing this story still has legs. In any case, I think this may have to do with strong K6 sales. I am surprised that there seems to little recognition of what Sharky wrote up yesterday. Sharky was talking about 25% of motheboard capacity at the majors for K6 - that is pretty serious stuff and lends further credibility what Dan Niles said last week. To be sure these units don't produce much profit but help a great deal in covering the fixed costs. For the first time in a long time, I am upbeat about Q3.

Chuck

P.S.: I like Sharky's because he has slight Intel bias while still being pretty rational and that complements the bullishness on this thread. Also, If my memory serves me right, Sharky was the guy who broke 2.5Mu of unsold K6 story (Paul came in first with 1Mu but I don't remember that having as much shock value as Sharky's 2.5Mu).
