Shamuke,

It is as easy as trying to make sense out of the PR situation.

Case in point - a previous post wondering about whether there is something wrong with Ancor's deals based on Brocade publicity. What is the connection? Throw in stock volatility and that triggers more doubt. In times of uncertainty - many grasp at straws. In fact Ancor has always been a speculative stock. To own a position in Ancor means you are willing to take some risk. In that context, Ancor to me is at its lowest risk period since I have owned the stock.

You cannot draw conclusions about Ancor's prospects from volatility or the fact that it's competitor gets publicity. On the other hand - you can buy or sell the stock based on the amount of risk that you are willing to take. The paradox is of course that you really never even know how to assess the risk. I would point to the conversion and the price drop as hard evidence for this.

The least valid measure of risk, is the quantity and intensity of the Yahoo hypesters. Some of the same ones active this weekend have made numerous erroneous predictions about Ancor. I believe that it is prudent to conclude that they know nothing about the company's technology or business practices.

George D.

The enterprise SAN takes longer to incorporate, thus BRCD can claim to have all the market they want - until the big boys start to play. The former SQNT and McData are not exactly the heart of the internet.

It's getting near buy time; thanks to all the TA folks (both here and at Yahoo) for helping me to set my buy point. IMO today was a hoot - the MMs knew that a lot of money would leave ANCR at 10% down from the secondary, and it did. They created a mini-panic using the stop-losses, and as soon as the puddle was crossed, they jumped back in with both fists. I would simply hate to have to tell my kids that "I lost money on ANCR..."
