At the upcoming Citrix iForum '99 knowledge exchange in Orlando, Sept. 7-10, Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS - news) will present a full day of programming on the emerging Application Service Provider (ASP) market called ''The ASP Wave.''
Scheduled for September 9, ''The ASP Wave'' will feature an ASP Pavilion with 11 exhibitors, the ''Up Close and Personal ASP Program'' for media, a variety of informational sessions, and real-world customer success stories. The day's agenda will also feature three press conferences, including the announcement of Citrix's iBusiness Service Provider Program, as well as other breaking industry news.
To provide visiting press and analysts with the actual experience of using ASP-hosted applications, Citrix has designed the cutting-edge ''Up Close and Personal ASP Program.'' Participants will be given mobile access to e-mail, the Internet and productivity applications, all centrally hosted in Calgary, Canada and delivered via wireless network by FutureLink, a Citrix Application Service Provider. Compaq Computer Corp. will equip media with Windows CE-based Aero 8000 handheld devices that they can use while roaming the show floor. In addition, the press room will be equipped with Compaq desktop and notebook PCs running the same FutureLink-hosted applications.
