OUNCES (000s) LAST 12 PREV 12 CHANGE PERCENT
--------------- ----- ----- ----- -----
Barrick Gold 3748 3128 620 19.8%
Rio Tinto plc 3204 2284 920 40.3%
Freeport C&G 2844 2065 779 37.7%
--------------- ----- ----- ----- -----
9796 7477 2319 31.0%

I did not comment on the data that I put together,
but I just noticed that three firms have added over
2 million ounces of supply to primary mine production.
Now we all know that Barrick was heading toward the 4
million ounce per year level, but did anyone know that
two copper firms are heading toward 3 million ounces
of gold production ? Lots of smaller miners are going
to have to cut production to make up for the above.

I need to get all those pieces organized. The problem is that I started with production, then before I finished someone asked about supply, then I started working on a central bank reserve list, and now I'm back to quarterly gold production. I don't get paid enough to work this hard ;)
