Mike - According to S&P, ADCT has a small but growing fiber optics component business.

MikeM,

<" Unfortunately for Level One, ADC may not be the right player to bet on for this technology..."

Chuck,
Can you add some color to your statement. ADCT has looked quite interesting to me. And I would appreciate some negative opinions.>

Everytime I turn around talk to a DSL guy, there is talk about Adtran winning one more piece of business, usually at PAIR's or ADC's expense. The ASPs are going down fast and the business is becoming commodity like.

On the HDSL2 front, I do not believe the revenues will come in time to rescue the HDSL players (with the exception of ADTN). And, when they come, I expect the pricing to be in dirt.

Also, I do not see ADC playing effectively in the data space where Redback, Avidia and some of the newer players are coming on strong.

So, bottom line, as a DSL bet, I do not take ADC seriously. I am not too keen on the Kentrox side either. I do not know about their other areas to have an opinion.

Chuck
