William - thanks for your message.

You're right - I know nothing about the relationship between Bezos and Covey.

Through my post, I was attempting to point out the irony of a company with finances that look to be a bit of a mess promoting the executive that is ultimately in charge of those finances.

To you, it is sound. To me, it is ludicrous. Getting a new CFO is probably a good move for Amazon. Although, I don't believe that even the world's best CFO is going to be able to do much to get Amazon profitable any time soon. Of course, a really good CFO may be able to do a good job in raising more cash to keep the company afloat.

For the sake of those that own AMZN stock, I just hope that this executive sticks around for longer than a year.
