Man is not a peaceful creature, watch young children play, that is how we act without society to give us rules to live by, the essance of our nature. To a young child, everything is mine, unless you make me feel bad, then I might share. This is also where compassion comes from. The act of making oneself feel better doesn't come from altruism, I don't believe in this concept. We help other's because it makes us feel good. I make generalizations to highlight points. Libs always whine about this, because they like to speak in buts, ifs and excepts. As adults, we all know that there is an exception to every rule, and someone like Mother Thereasa is a good example of what altruism could be. But what was her internal motivation to help others, was she selfless, or did she want to get into heaven? When we have peace, man focuses on internal problems, and inflames these until it becomes war again. We cannot help it, and it has and will occur throughout history. And Gengis's people did love him. There was no, fight in the army or you die. His people were horse warriors, they had fought each other (and continue to) for millenia. He banded them togethor by defeating their leaders with superior military strategy, and then turning this war machine against China, then India, and the Cossaks. His armies almost made it to Europe before he died. Fortunately, his children were compassionate though. They stopped the war machine, and focused on making the people happy. They failed miserably, and his empire was gone in 6 generations. Pity really, now Mongolia is less than a 3rd world state.

No no no, you can't define honor any way you wish, and honor is not something bestowed on one by someone else. I gave the concise definition of honor in a previous post, but apparently my irrefutable logic and rapier-like insightfulness are too much for the estrogen-soaked brain to assimilate. You're a fan of self-help books. I suggest you read Iron John by Robert Bly. He explains how to get in touch your inner caveman, or the hairy man within or some such thing. You're too sensitive.
