f.,

Does anyone know why AMD is up 12% today?

Buyout rumors, at least that's what they're saying on the AMD thread. I guess they noticed that it was the one thing that made COMS pop, decided to try it.

f.simons, RE: Does anyone know why AMD is up 12% today?

BELM signed an agreement with AMD whereby BELM will be an "AMD Authorized Distributor" for their PC products. Supposedly, this might give AMD an 'in' on commercial markets, particularly important for the K7.

It's all in the charts.

20s, here we come!
Once we get over 21/22, shorts will be squeezed.

This was written before Mon, Aug 30 opening. Immediately after opening, AMD went over 20.

AMD chart is finally getting to look bullish again, probably breaking 20 this week, and is likely to assault the 21.75 peak very soon. Hopefully this will be a more sustained move on the upside, especially after the shorts get caught after 21.75.

This was written on the same Sun evening. Like I just said, charts tell all.
