Excuse me, but isn't it obvious that GWB is letting people know in a subtle manner that he smoked dope and did coke in his youth? When GWB feels he is able to proclaim his innocence about something - cheating on his wife, using drugs within certain periods - he does so. It's only about drug use of 25 years ago that he refuses to answer questions. What he does say is that when he was young and wild and crazy, he was really wild and crazy, meaning there's something there but he just won't say what. This is his way of letting people know the answer to the question is yes without actually saying yes. I guess we can give him credit for being careful not to lie about it. This is how I read this. And I predict he'll admit his early drug use, but not till after he has the nomination. We'll just have to wait and see if I'm right about this.
