Only thing we bought were the barrels, made everything else. He wants to make a barrel too, but doesn't have the equipment. He's not real up to date on laws, he designed a hunting rifle when he was a kid (after the war), and sold it to either Browning or Winchester, I can't remember which. He want's to try and do it again, because he is semi retired. I'll remember to tell him no on the switch, we just discussed it last weekend. He asked me to help out becuase he knew that I loaded, and he'd seen me sniping with my .308 at the range, and my father worked for him for several years. I jumped on the chance to work with a monster like the .50 cal, I'd never fired one before, and only seen em a few times at shoots, it got my testosterone burning. My role is really just to test shoot for him, he does all the design and machining. I think its the old fire-cracker theory. Boys like to make a big bang. The other rifle we are working on is a .308 version, a semi auto version of mine. We still haven't gotten the accuruacy over my gun, but it's pretty good for a semi. I finally found an ex-sniper (Army) in my area, and we are neogotiting with him to consult on the gun. Trying to trade him a proto type if he can significantly improve it right now. Plus, he's had some good tips that have helped out my shooting some, I'm hoping to finally win a first place in 2 weeks at a shoot. I don't really want to give away too much information about what we are doing because he hasn't applied for a patent yet. So I was really just curious as to legal issues about this. I kind of figured that it was legal in invent anything you wanted, as long as it didn't explode and wasn't addictive.
