Come on, E. You turn my statement:

"if Neocon's moral belief is that abortion represents
murder, whether that comes from his religious beliefs or not he is perfectly entitled
to try to enact that belief into law and impose on you and others who may disagree
with it"

into your translation,

"You've said you are going to do all you can to get your religious views turned into
law and make me do what you
want."

NO. Acknowledging somebody else's right to do something is NOT a statement that I plan to do that thing. Just because I may say that LRR has the right to oppose gun laws does NOT mean that I oppose gun laws. And your semi-disclaimer at the end does little to restore you to intellectual honesty.

What is ironic is that YOU, IMO, want to impose your moral beliefs on society, yet bitterly oppose other peoples' rights to try to impose their moral beliefs on society. Why should you have this right and others not?

It is true that when I was in the civil rights movement I tried very hard to get my religious beliefs in the equality of all people turned into law. And I was opposed by some people whose religious beliefs were quite the contrary and had no difficulty supporting their views with violence.

But in fact, in the past 20 years I have been singularly unconcerned with trying to get my religious views imposed on others; I am more concerned with not having others' religious and moral views (including, probably, some of yours) imposed on me. I have been uninvolved politically for more than 20 years, being more interested in raising my family and enjoying my corner of paradise.

The representation of my views is not correct...
