Jim, <The kid is good. So is the Athlon. Appears the P-II is 1-2 speed grades behind, clock for clock..>

Yeah right. Didn't you know that Cu-late will
outperform anything AMD can dream of? :)

Especially with smokin-fast RAMBUS...

BTW, Intel has released to the public some
guidelines on how to make the Rambus work:

Pretty "encouraging" requirements IMO. Just a little
below 10 microns tolerances, in every dimensions.
Only three board spins are recommended before
transmission parameters become within the specs.
With 3-month product life it must be so exciting
for board makers! Maybe this is why the stock
is so enthusiastic about Intel platform?

Ouch, don't forget the thermal spreader for RAMBUS:

Happy investing!

Jim - RE: "Anyone read Anands new CPU comparison guide?"

Betcha the Intelabees are perusing the data looking for the few benchmarks in which Cuontimemine might be able to beat the AThlon.

<Anyone read Anands new CPU comparison guide?>

Yep, I did. Pretty fair and exhaustive comparison of processor performance with various benchmarks. No doubt Coppermine will close the gap, which isn't very huge to begin with. Yet performance in 3D Studio Max is still Athlon's domain. And like I said before, 3D Studio Max is enough to convince me that Athlon is for real.

I only wish he made Powerpoint slides out of them so that managers and marketing guys can understand them. ;-)
