Burt, As they get to an even keel the goverment gets less interested. It is death blows they look for. Too bad they are so slow it is usually autopsies they preside over.
ie if AMD gets bigger than Intel, they will be enjoined from killing Intel, and vice versa.

With Via's purchase of Cyrix processors from NSM, I think Intel's hand is strengthened. They could rightly complain about any antitrust harassments saing that it would threaten US dominance in the processor market and allow foreign competition to take a stronger foothold.
