Truer words were never spoken. The most money I have ever made in options is by being a seller.

thanks, for the reeeeeeeal slow, got the stock so i write the calls to rake in the dough

i'll check out the option call prices but theoretically if the price of the October $20 is $3 and i sell 1 i pull in $3 less commissions

if CS gets taken out at $23 and my entry is $17 and October is the date (before expiry) then i have to provide 1 share at $20

my theoretical profit (excluding commissions) $3 from spread, $3 from writing the call for $6 total

i guess i could also write the put side of the straddle, but will probably confuse myself over whether i want to write or buy the straddle ;)

you did mention the puts, did you mean buying the put as a part of a straddle, i guess writing the call completes it?

thanks, oh black socked one :)
ynot ;)
