Kemble -
I have been writing covered calls on my shares since February (based on advice from several here on the thread) and have made good money. I don't want to have the shares called out so I try to stay ahead of where the stock will be. That got a little tricky this month with the big run but I would just buy the calls back if it got close.

This has generated a considerable bunch of money. For example I sold April 45's in February at 1 7/8 - this generates 187.50 per contract. I did 400 contracts and pocketed $75K. Have done this 4 times - the most recent was November 55's at 2 5/16 which produced $92,500. I may have to buy those back depending on what happens over the next few months - if so I will sell further out and probably be all right.

If you have the shares this looks like easy money to me.
