Yup, it is realtime. When the markets open, you'll start seeing the time and sales window start throwing out the time and sales information just like QCharts does and the PnF charts will update also (but only once every 1 minute, 5 minute etc whatever period you chose). If a pnf alert is hit, an alert box pops up to tell you when a double top, double bottom, triple top, triple bottom etc happen. I don't have all the different kinds of pnf alerts coded yet. The ones
I have are:
double top, bottom
triple top, bottom
bullish and bearish triangles
high pole and long tail down
bullish and bearish catapults

I am still working on getting the bullish and bearish support and resistance lines on there.

I don't have alerts you can set up yourself yet, my first priority is to get all the PnF alerts from Tom's book in there, then add the BSL etc and alerts for those. Then I want to add some of my own TA graphs.

I also want to set up workspaces so we can save all those charts we opened for the next time we start the program.

After all this is done,I will add real alerts etc. For now you still have to use QCharts for your alerts. I keep both QCharts and my program up all the time -- that way I get a more complete picture of what is going on.

Good luck, hope the program doesn't crash a lot on you!
