There are ways to "chat" without coming to SI.

Hi Jane...

Sorry to hear about your bad day, but it's just one day out of the rest of your life...be glad they didn't take the Cell and CD's, and that you didn't walk up on them while they were doing it. There are far worse things that can be stolen than material things.
