John, while the put/call ratio is certainly an indication of the relative optimism/pessimism on individual stocks, it's generally used as a market-wide barometer because there are a host of reasons that investors may buy puts or calls on a specific stock.

Virtually no activity today thus far in MSGI options. Apparently investors in this stock do not appear to have any reason to hedge their holdings at this level. Buying calls or puts is an expensive proposition particularly when priced at over 100 volatility. Smart money would be selling the options at these levels unless they believed that there were compelling reasons not to do so.

Perhaps the recent private placement and the possible expectation that MSGI will return to higher levels prior to the close of the Grizzard deal are a few of those compelling reasons, but I can't say for certain.
