Sonia says: Vajpayee is a traitor
Asked why he had gone so offensive against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, much against his style, Mr Vajpayee said: "She has challenged my patriotism. She called me a gaddar ( traitor)."
Asked whether Mrs Gandhi?s speeches were merely in retailiation to the personal tirade of the BJP leaders against her, Mr Vajpayee said: "Still, she cannot question
my patriotism."

LUCKNOW: Vedic hymns and a propitiating fire preceded the filing of nomination papers by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee here on Tuesday.
Three priests chanted prayers as Mr Vajpayee made offerings to Agni, the fire god, and broke a coconut, considered auspicious, before setting off in a triumphant procession to file his nomination papers at the Lucknow collectorate. The exact moment of signing the papers was carefully chosen
and Mr Vajpayee managed to do so at the appointed hour.
