Convenience is a real issue. In many cultures where males are utterly dominant, women are very reluctant to use any method that might interfere with their husbands' "right" to take his pleasure when and where he chooses, without cumbersome delays. The Catholic Church, which is still a dominant social force where I live, continues to push the rhythm method, despite a universal consensus that the Filipino husband is simply not willing to be barred from intercourse for that number of days monthly....
