Medium-sized and large businesses in need of custom-printed letterhead, marketing materials, and other items can log on to the company's Web site, create a printing catalog containing their own logos and specifications, and enter printing orders online. ImageX.com then directs the orders to company-owned or affiliated printing companies and manages fulfillment and delivery. The company, founded in 1995, counts Amazon.com, FileNet, and Visio as customers. Acorn Ventures controls about 18%; Technology Partners, 15.5%; and Ask Jeeves co-founder Garrett Gruener (through Alta Partners), about 9%.
