If you are talking about penance required by some denominational church, I do not recognize the rights of an organization consisting of mere humans to make such requests or requirements. My spiritual life is devoted directly to God and Jesus Christ. There is no need for human intervention between an individual and God. I say most of the "born again" murderers on death row are just trying to pull one more con. I really don't know where our culture started going wrong or why some people don't think they have to own up to their sins. I think they will find out somewhere down the road that the bill has come due. Part of the problem has been the concept that government should replace the individual in all things...TD
