JMHO,
Also noticed that PSFT and BAANF and SAP have all started to move upwards...does that tell you another reason for ORCL's move..What will happen when the Y2K fears are over with all the IT money becoming available for new projects etc. I think big investors are looking at the following:

1. Oracle is a nice e-commerce play with some safety compared to DOT.Coms.

2. With SUNW becoming another dominant player in the OS especially the WEB related components.. ORCL stands to benefit as ORCL and SUNW have very strong ties.

3. New funding will start new projects early next year..markets like to look atleast 6 months ahead if not more.

4. RHAT picking up steam as OS for WEB servers and ORCL is the database of choice as far as RHAT is concerned.

5. Consulting business is pretty strong across the board and ORACLE does get a significant rev. from consulting side of the business.

I will not be surprised to see another split announce over the next couple of months.

Regards,
