donald: Techinicians are for the shorter-term, not for the long term holders. Thats my feeling based on mathematics. As I have stated, with the long-term outlook the chance use technical analysis is no better than 62%, at best. That is based on "OPEN ENVIRONMENT" studies. As one reduces the time-frame, the OPEN ENVIRONMENT becomes more closed and the probability increases.

Could you state the source of that study and provide a link. I just don't buy that statement. There are just too many variables to paint longer-term TA with such a broad brush.

Regards,
LG

<<The only problem with that comment is will she be able to time the major one>> Don, come on!! You cannot criticise someone for perhaps being wrong in the future!! That's just speculation. My entire point this am is that the bears-- Fleck, Hickey, Tice, etc--- have been wrong. I have profited handsomly from NOT listening to them. Their arguments have been rigorous and wrong!

<So my conclusion is that TA is no better than Fundamentals for long-term outlook.>

donald, this is a nice post, as so many of yours are. But I am sure you have heard many times that LT, everything is FA and ST, everthing is TA. To me, that is perfectly self-evident. So I am surprised that you would be stating otherwise in the sentence I am quoting....
