mark, that is why I provided you with a more comprehensive definition, since yours does not do justice to the concept, especially as it relates to the phrase "sense of honor"......

honor: a sense of what is right, just, and true; dignified respect for character, springing from probity, principle, or moral rectitude; scorn of meanness.

I'll say it again, the honorable person is inherently compassionate. You set up a false dichotomy.

I am not into "slamming," but I got irritated going through the posts regarding honor. Getting tired of the dunderheadedness that abounds on this subject.
