donald: Not sure if you are saying if 62% probability is to high or too low.

I am saying that I don't buy anyone putting a percentage on the success rate, period. Of course, all are entitled to their opinion, but quantifying it with an exact number is misleading. There are just too many variables in the mix to do that.

You know that one study does not necessarily extrapolate out to another. It may be your opinion that longer-term TA does not work, but that is all it is...an opinion, not a fact!

Much of the Market Technical Analysis is based on a mathematical approach to a combination of price and volume, with some including fundamental data as well. Often the results are open to interpretation, making it not a pure mathematical process.

Just as your "guitar system" is not a pure mathematical process, per our conversations, your interpretation is often part of the process!

Regards,
LG

Don,

I believe that you can derive those same values from statistical thermodynamics for an Open System.
