If indeed you had to pay tax at the time of exercise on market value

then there would be no incentive to hold the stock. The only question that remains is whether the options also had to be exercised at that time.

Hello LB11,

If you are not a regular follower of the Novell thread, I just posted a response to Paul which explained that it *does* make sense ... if the company chooses to create an employee option plan which issues the shares this way.
