Because it was not telegraphed each day for 60 days prior to doing so. BTW, their action shows that they have balls and it also shows that BoE is still a lesser goof than US feds.

MM, once again, there is nothing surprising about this...market participants know the Fed is worried about the bubble and correctly bank on it not daring to pop it - it's that simple.
