Sony to make TiVo digital recorders [will this mean Cube can't get into Tivo?] zdnet.com Personal TV technology firm TiVo Inc. announced Wednesday that Sony Corp. of America has joined its ranks of partners. The consumer electronics giant signed a strategic agreement with TiVo to build Sony-branded "personal video recorders" that allow consumers to use TiVo's service. The Sunnyvale, Calif. company's technology uses a hard drive and an intelligent interface to allow users to save TV programs to watch at their convenience.
