I have to agree somewhat with John. I have friends that started out with AOL and it was so easy to setup they are afraid to mess that up by having to try to hook up with a new untried ISP. For those that aren't techno-savvy its a good way to get on-line and the cost is in-line with other local ISP's.

I think I'm in the same boat as your friends. I do have an AOL account and a MindSpring ISP account, and im having trouble (im hooked) killing the AOL account even though I can get similar if not better information on the net.

Those folks in Virginia have made the overall user experience very pleasant and painless relative to their peers.

I do think that Chung fellow makes some valid points, but I think he's taking a tech-guy perspective instead of a John Q. User view of the online world.
