Philip,

I have been trying to find out what long term hedge prices are, but am having difficulty. Placer Dome suspended its Las Cristinas project in Venezuela, citing poor project economics at projected gold prices. I am not trying to compare both projects and I am not sure that Las Cristinas suspension is really due to economics (versus political and legal issues).

I think that if Las Cristinas is set aside for non-economic reasons, then more attention might be devoted to Cerro Casale. If the reasons are really economic, I fear that we may be in for another long wait. While CURRENT copper prices look better, there is no saying what they may be whenever Cerro Casale starts up (if ever). As you know there are a number of people who feel gold will dip below $200 before rising. Go figure! LOL
