DVD Player sales up 187.6% in lastest week............. dvdinsider.com Vital Statistics - 9/7/99 DVD player sales continue to flourish as fall pushes forward. According to CEMA, for the week ending Aug. 27, 1999, DVD players sales reached 156,564, an 187.6 percent increase from 1998. Projection television sales totaled 38,582, a (-6.8) percent decrease from last year. Month-to-date DVD players totaled 260,225, a 220.6 percent increase and projection television sales were 90,324, an (-11.0) percent decrease from last August. Year-to-date, DVD player sales have reached 1,871,856, a 323.3 percent increase from 1998 and projection televisions are also on the rise at 650,092, an 8.8 percent increase.
