RHAT..Don't confuse sound strategy with 'loyalty' to one's pick... just got a question from a poster as to why I shorted my own pick. I think it is very necessary to explain that this particular 'pick' did in two days what most picks don't do in 2 months. But that aside, I did not get in on the pick yesterday, I got in today at 115 1/2... and watched it while it consoldidated after the first hour or so. I got out at 130 3/8 a little bored but had planned all along as I stated that I would be short when I sold. Right after I sold the stock gained steam and jumped abother 5 points, even better for a short position. Instead of shorting at 135 (worried it might conceivably go to 140, I waited until it dropped 5 points back to around my sell point and shorted. I had planned to short PHCM but it did not have any of the 'loss of steam' that RHAT exhibited. There is nothing wrong with a strategy that shorts a very high flyer after a 40 point gain in two days... I have shorted HLIT the same day I made 10 points on it.. Its quite different to short RHAT than it would be to short BDK or VANS and it would be pretty ridiculous to short CAMP or ALTR for any length of time, but I am also getting ready to short about 4 other stocks that were on my watch list last week that have also increased 25% or more in 1-2 trading days.
