FWIW... China adds an estimated 14 million people each year...that is more than the population of Florida or the combined total populations of Norway and Sweden! Chinese people are now following the lead of Westerners and eating more meat, buying private cars, building skyscrapers, cutting more trees, dumping more waste and using more water...along with consuming more ginseng. Farmland is being overused with intensive farming, marked by the highest use of chemical fertilizer and pesticides in the world. Farmland is being destroyed. China has always self-supported itself with grain production but it looks like China will soon have to import more grain... Blossoming factories around the country have absorbed hundreds of millions of people and dramatically raised living standards...largely because of these factories, economic growth has been stunning...nearly 10 percent a year for two decades. ...excerpts from a recent MSNBC article... Can't resist at 8 cents...I love the buying op. but I am ready to head the other direction...
