re: "I don't understand their thinking?"

This is a statement that I can find no argument with.

Joseph, Re: Why not wait until the platform was ready to go? I don't understand their thinking?

For some companies, being the best in the press/review
is much more important than the top and bottom line
in the financial statement, for others it is the
exact opposite. You have been getting used to the
later type.

RE:"Surely AMD knew the mobo situation, so why did they "announce" in
June, "announce" in August, if they knew the mobo's were not there.
Any ideas? Seems like they reinforce their poor image. Why not wait
until the platform was ready to go? I don't understand their thinking?"...

Maybe they were thinking they had to announce just to get the motherboard makers interested in making K7 mobos. Now, the mobomakers look like idiots, not AMD. Then again, a cpu without a motherboard is like no cpu at all. No consolation. The mobos will come...but as we all know in this CPU business, lost time is lost opportunity that cannot be recovered.
