That's surprisingly depressing for you. I had you for a letter liker. And letter likers need letter carriers. And a post, office. And mail, boxes. And desks. And pens. And pen pals.

Don't kid yourself. USPS management would love it if we only had [I'm forbidden to use your term] Bulk Business Mail.

The largest of our weekly ad mailers pays the USPS over one *billion* dollars per year to deliver their newsprint flyers. And they drop their stuff on our back docks, so we don't have to ship it anywhere. When PCs first arrived we experienced an explosion in mail volume. It seems that with a PC anyone can develop his own mailing list very easily, and that hasn't changed. We are also seeing a big increase in parcels, some of it from one of our favorite internut companies. We expect to resume having parcel post routes, something that my city hasn't seen since long before I started.

What is sad is that the best letters to get, the handwritten ones, are vanishing. But that's up to you all to rectify.
