Yep. I assume you read Fred Hickey's Sept musings. He addressed the market cap insanity.

Yep, and people worry about a puny $8 billion increase in credit card debt. Assuming a 50% margin on GE the appreciation gave back over $20 billion in GE alone. So on balance we have $12 billion surplus only from GE <G>

This is called NEW ERA ACCOUNTING.
