Ratcliffe on Nines problem

Seems to be a tad bit short on evidence.

To say nothing of strickly from a PeeCee viewpoint.

How would he know that no such code is running? I have a friend that was dealing with 20 year old Fortran code that had been last compiled in 1979. It was still doing the job it was intended to do.

"Given IT spending the entire IT infrastructure has been replace 2.5 times... Ratcliffe's spent too much time with a spreadsheet. Software doesn't get replaced...it keeps going back into production & layered on top with the newer stuff like eCommerce.

Physical goods wear out & get replaced...software doesn't...it just keeps on ticking.
