I will not inquire as to the bitter part of the story,
Neocon, the good news is that, there really is not a bitter part of the story. The ability to discuss the issues as adults prevented bitterness from taking root in the relationship. Granted there was damage done to the friendship, but life is full of changes.

The man that I thought was the man of my dreams, I have not spoken with in nearly 13 years. The last time he and I talked, he was sure his wife would be furious if she knew he had spoken with me. (Poor insecure woman.) When my family has traveled through the area of Pennsylvania where he lives, I have occasionally wondered how he is doing. I suspect he is not a very happy man. I mean after all how could he be....he had lost the best thing that ever happened to him.....ME. (laughing, could not resist saying that)
