Wayne, I didn't mean to jab anyone--it's more of a somber, resigned observation about the current OTC malaise. About a month ago, a lot of posts on all kinds of different boards had a decidedly vicious edge to them (I expect because by then, patience with BBs was wearing thin--heck, from Jan-mid May it seemed like anyone, even a blind, deaf, fingerless sheep could make money on these things; when summer came more and more BBs seemed stuck in neutral).

I think that the viciousness has given way to apathy--people just stopped posting, because it seems to be an all too familiar refrain. And so here we sit, nudging the middle of September and still marred in the doldrums.

I'm beginning to become more and more a believer in Y2K.

Not the technological doomsday, but the "things that go bump in the night" mentality doomsday. The adverse effects of Y2K will be relatively mild; it's the wailing and gnashing of teeth over Y2K that is more likely to bring markets crashing down.

To me, the best defense against this "bunker mentality" is good old-fashioned discourse. Communication. Doesn't matter what the topic is--from the piece of dreet shares in ETCP that are still dragging from the heel of my shoe like so much toilet paper, to those precious shares of that gem company I've got tucked away, just waiting to ignite.

As long as people can come here and see that the same savvy folks still post regularly, there will be an answer for that "fear of the unknown" mentality.

Yea but thestockpit has 30 odd people at best watching. I had 1400+ at one time.

Are they still there? Do they still care?

What do they want?
