Thread,
From Jhg's article:

Sun Ray is interoperable with CTXS

The client and the server software together are being referred as Hot Desk Protocol by Sun

I'm a bit confused here. What is this software they are referring to? My initial take on this was that the software are the applications and not the enabling software? Sun Ray would not in fact be a "stand alone thin client solution" but in actuality would need enabling technology such as metaframe? Given the references to "interoperability" with metaframe and the fact that ctxs has been helping sun, I'm confused as to what else the afore mentioned software and situation could be.

But then on the other hand there is the reference to "protocol". This could seem to imply that it is actually enabling technology, which would mean that Sun Ray is indeed a stand alone solution. However, if this is the case, where would be the incentive to run metaframe on top of Sun Ray? Wouldn't that be redundant? Comments anyone?

Appologies if I'm missing the obvious :-/
