Fed governors Edward Gramlich and Roger
Ferguson are slated to speak Thursday -- Ferguson
at the National Economists Club in Washington at
12:30 p.m. ET and Gramlich at a community leaders
lunch in Boise, Idaho, at 2:30 p.m. ET. After the
markets close, New York Fed president William
McDonough, will speak at Canisius College in
Buffalo, N.Y. at 8 p.m. ET.

Investors will also be priming themselves for
Friday's producer price index report, which is
expected to show that costs rose 0.3 percent in
August, according to the average forecast of analysts
polled by Reuters. Excluding food and energy,
producer prices are expected to have risen 0.1
percent for the month, according to the survey. The
report will be released Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET.
