Good post, one I hadn't seen before. Agree totally with your take on the Tele2 UK contract: it's looking very solid.
Regarding the standards debate, I also agree with you, and I should be blamed for a debate gone awry. What really concerns me is the number of potential wireless users who will be removed from Wi-LAN's market by committing to other wireless services.
Money spent on lesser technology is not likely to be re-spent to acquire better technology - or is it? For example, BT and Microsoft are allied, and in England, BT is making serious inroads into the wireless market. Are you saying that BT, which is sponsoring its own wireless products, could conceivably incorporate Wi-LAN's WLL into its plan, if applicable? Alternatively, do you know what competitive advantages/disadvantages Wi-LAN's WLL offers?
I guess it's this: once the commitment is made to one wireless technology, can you see an established wireless network "upgrading"?

Hello,
I am still trying to sort out the IEE 802.11
versus IEE 802.11a debate, if there really is one.

However I would assume that the IEE 802.11a standard
would be downward compatible with the 802.11 standard.
Anyone know if this will be true ?

Also, In my view, Wireless Local Loop applications are of primary importance to Cell-Loc at this time.

There are many places, on this and other continents, that are in immediate need of this service.

My real concern is that --
The ability of Cell-Loc's products to co-exist in the same Home or Small Office environment with minimal interaction or Radio Frequency interference, is a very serious matter.

In my opinion, it is imperative that Cell-Loc actively
participate in the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA) and that some standard, perhaps similar to
"Carrier-Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection"
(CSMA/CD), be adapted and adhered to by all.

Like to hear your opinions.

Best regards,
Mardy
