Paul, In my experience I have never had a failed AMD or Intel CPU in my stores. That represents over 100,000 parts, from 286 onwards. Part quality is not an issue, they both make good ones.
This seems to be what is seen in industry. Bad parts are intercepted before they ever get packaged...as you should know. As to yield? well that is the real bad part ratio. From what I hear AMD has scrapped a higher ration that Intel in the past...in the future?
