"The VC's would not have dumped it unless it was a dog." Yeah right. Dell's first acquisition ever, in an area they consider crucial, is something the VCs can't wait to get rid of. I'll have whatever you're smoking. The new business Dell will win as a result of the acquisition will pay for itself in no time. There is no way Meredith would have done the deal otherwise. They are going after EMC and IBM bigtime, and this is in their minds the quickest and most efficacious way to achieve hypergrowth in storage.
