Maurice: Thanks. Very much to the point. Much appreciate your report and analysis. Sure beats the "media" here in US.

Re "make nice". You are of course correct that should be both ways. But again, suggest you not count on that. My fearless forecast is that the Clinton admin. will engage in what might be described as "preemptive caving" or in Chinese terms "kowtow". Hope I am wrong of course. But past is prologue with the US "administration".

So hope, but no high expectations.

Though I find it very interesting reading other peoples perspectives from around the world. I am however, a bit offended by part of your statement.

It was funny seeing live chickens being thrown on the USA warships by tough Aussie guys. Lack of support from the USA after all the support over the whole century by Australia and New Zealand will go down like a lead balloon.


I don't find those actions to be amusing but rather in bad taste (no pun intended), and the following statement is ridiculous. To be brief, over the past 50 years or so, the USA has shouldered the burden and contributed more to the defense of the free world then any other country, period.
