To ALL: Well here it is 9/9/99 and the world has not imploded. I even went to my bank and downloaded some transactions. Where is the disaster?

Well, that COBOL program I wrote in college back in 1983 won't work now, since we were told to use 9/9/99 as the stop tag...

Off topic --- 9/9/99 stuff.

I loaded the shopping cart on 9/9/99 and when I got to the cashier, I was short on funds. I blamed the situation on the 9/9/99 bug. The cashier was very understanding and patiently waited while I visited the in-store cash machine. She said I wasn't the only shopper with this problem that day, and that she needed to get gas on the way home and was hoping the same thing wouldn't happen to her too. I was just kidding, but judging from the response, I was taken seriously.

Cheers, PW.
