The yen has risen to 104/$US, highest value in 3.1/2 years.

The drop in the yen is a big reason for the drop in Deswell's revs, primarily Kwanasia's circuit board business.

HK/China's exports to Japan and South Korea have been rising.

The rising yen is as effective as a devaluation in the $HK and the yuan as Deswell's main international competition is in Japan. The competition is now primarily other HK/China companies but Deswell has a technological advantage over most of them, even more so with the new equipment they've been adding to Jetcrown.

Kwanasia's chances for a recovery have greatly improved. It will take time to get the contracts, but they should be showing improvement quicker than earlier projected. If they don't, I'll see it as management weakness.

JMHO,
Ron
