Interesting TA, particularly with September options expiry in about a week. As a call writer <ouch>, it seems that Q runs up as expiration approaches; could there be a correlation?

Jim Willie: Curious about your views about "strong" vs "weak" dollar. Double edge sword of course since $ is a special animal in world trade. Of course if we were not the country whose currency is used for denominating trade, a "weak" dollar would be just the ticket to increase US exports and reduce US imports and help our trade balance. But the capital flows are a wild card. What thinkest thou?

Just for fun, since this is the Q board, let's be specific. Is the Q better off with a strong or weak dollar in your thinking?
